One key is simplicity: try an entire head of romaine, chopped very fine (the water method in the blender is useful), and topped with an entire can of chili beans. It’s a tasty, 300-calorie lunch that is jam-packed with fiber, protein, and vitamins. It will keep you full for hours, not to mention what it will do for your intestinal health.

Downsize your plate to lose more weight. Traditional plates are bigger in diameter than is necessary to hold an appropriate amount of food. The desire to fill your plate and subsequently empty your plate is usually counterproductive to weight loss. Try using a child-sized plate, this will allow you to keep up your habits in a healthier way.

If you do cardiovascular workouts, losing weight can be easy. This type of exercise is commonly referred to as “cardio,” and includes exercises that get your heart rate up like cycling, running and step aerobics. Increase your heart’s beats per minute is the way to burn off body fat. A good goal is to get a half hour of aerobic exercise three or four times per week.

A fantastic way to help you lose weight is to start incorporating blueberries into your diet. Blueberries might just be the healthiest fruit because they’re jam packed with antioxidants. An easy way to eat blueberries is simply to add a handful of them into a blender with some ice and protein powder drink mix and make a delicious, protein shake.

To lose some extra weight, you should consider eating the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables every day. An adult should eat five servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Start the day with orange juice and sprinkle your cereal with pieces of fruit. Make sure your lunch and dinner contain a serving of vegetable each and if you need to snack, choose a fruit.

To help you lose weight, you should make sure to chew your food thoroughly. It takes a while for our brains to interpret information on fullness. This means if we eat quickly, we tend to overeat because our brains do not recognize that we are already full until it is long past this fact. By chewing your food thoroughly, you will slow down your eating pace, which will ultimately help you to eat less and prevent the consumption of extra calories.

One of the most common traits that successful dieters share is the keeping of a daily diary that documents food intake. By honestly documenting each thing that you consume, you can better analyze for yourself what is working for you and what is not. So many people sabotage their own diet goals by choosing not to remember when they gave into temptation eat that extra helping they didn’t really need.

Sleep is one of the most important things to get for weight loss. When you sleep, your body is able to reconstruct so that you can function at a normal level the next day. Aim for at least eight hours of sleep per day to give your body the chance to function properly.

As previously stated, it’s hard to stick to a diet during times like the holidays, but you can do things to keep your cravings and possibilities of overeating to a minimum. Use the advice you now know to make it through those holiday events.
